About the Artist
Trude Spillane’s art invites viewers into a world where nature, spirit, and imagination intertwine. Her work explores the unity of life, blending the beauty of the natural world with the mystical energy that flows through it. Each piece reflects her deep connection to both inner and outer landscapes, merging memory, imagination, and spiritual essence.
The aqua-blue, spring-fed rivers of North Central Florida are a recurring inspiration in Trude Spillane’s paintings. Their life-giving waters sustain countless beings and resonate with a melody of interconnectedness for those who pause to listen. Through her art, Trude reflects the healing power of these sacred waters, where hearts intertwine, and balance is restored—for both humanity and the planet.
Nature in Trude’s work becomes a gateway to the extraordinary. Imaginary trees spring to life, free from the constraints of perfection, their shapes and textures leading to magical realms. The Blue Ridge Mountains glow with spectral light, their ethereal presence emerging from her mind’s eye and offering a glimpse behind the veil of the ordinary.
Her paintings also feature recurring symbols of transformation, such as spirit beings and angelic figures. These ethereal, winged forms radiate love and light, embodying themes of awakening and renewal. They are deeply personal and yet universal, reflecting a shared mystical experience.
Trude’s artistic journey spans decades of exploration across multiple disciplines. Her path began with fine art studies as a teenager, evolving into a lifelong dedication to painting, sculpture, and jewelry design. She co-owned Gifts of Avalon for 23 years, a beloved bead and jewelry supply store where she repaired jewelry, taught design, and cultivated a creative haven for her community.
Today, she continues to create from her home studio, pouring her passion into oil paintings, custom jewelry, and whimsical sculptures. Each piece is a reflection of her love for the natural world and her ongoing dialogue with the mystical.
As an active member of the Artisan’s Guild Gallery in Gainesville, FL, Trude shares her creations within a vibrant community of artists and art enthusiasts. Her vision is to inspire others to embrace the beauty of nature, the unity of life, and the boundless creativity that resides within us all.
